My music tastes are quite scattered. I like pretty much everything except country, although there are some songs in that genre that I do like. I love movies and watching TV.

I've lived in the East Bay for about 6 years now and originally from Oklahoma so I still have that slight accent. I have made the long journey from California and have finally made it to Virginia! I have this problem with forming emotional attachments with human beings. Try as i might, i just can't care as much as i'd like to which is strange because in all other areas i am an enormous sap i.e. The Biggest Loser made me cry. I am freakishly empathetic but pity and usually sympathy are difficult to come by and my forgeries when i almost bother are utterly transparent soooo i've stopped trying re: I am never intentionally misleading. The way i treat people is entirely conditional--the more altruistic, loving and "good" signs i read the nicer i am--so on and so forth.

I can either be very subtle or i can hit you like stampeding water buffalo, ha. It depends on my mood.

I like anthropology. astrology, classic literature, greek philosophy/lore, sociology/psychology and biology. indie/classic rock/PUNK CABARET!/hip-hop/spoken word, but i can't stand most musicals. I want to learn more.

The hardest part of these things is where to start for me; the second hardest part is not where to stop, but stopping period to be honest. I am a shy individual having suffered most my life from being extremely socially inept and cause of that I have never had a relationship before. Recently though I have been doing everything I can do try and fight that and counter my natural inability to understand or deal with social situations, hence my profile on this site!

As the above may have alluded to I have no experience with the dating scene and only a little when it comes to actually being with someone. Though I believe the pain of being alone has finally counterbalanced my anxiety of social situations and I am trying everything I can to try and find someone, even if for just a casual relationship.

I tend to take a somewhat different approach with relationships, to me sex is just sex its a very fun and enjoyable activity that you can enjoy with a friend or someone you really like. Im a senior in high school and I live all medical science. Im going to be a nurse one day. Its not I plan to be a nurse, its I am. I love to read and sometimes write, mostly poetry or anything that is on my mind. Letters are also an enjoyable thing to send and receive. I love the outdoors - whether it is riding bikes, walking, camping, going on hikes, going to the beach. Just about anything that deals with being out in the sun. I also love being out after dark or walking about in the rain from time to time. The way the air feels before a storm can sometimes be exhilarating as well.

I have been known to be a pretty shy person, but really open up once you get to know me... at that point it's almost hard to get me to quiet down.

It isn't uncommon for me to sit with someone and just talk for hours on any subject at all - serious, funny, philosophical, you name I'll discuss it. I'm also really good at listening and enjoy that a lot more than talking most of the time.

I'm also known as being more sensitive and caring than most guys around, so don't assume that I won't understand certain things because I'm of the opposite sex. I've had more women friends than guys while growing up (and even now) because I can relate to them a lot more and generally get along with them better.

Why hello there! I'm 20, a college student and an all around spontaneous person. I love the outdoors, including things like hiking, rock climbing, and of course camping! I love any and all kinds of music, well, except for country. One of my favorite things to do to relax is read, and I have a huge collection of books. I don't really have a religion and I'm not planning on taking one up,so I hope everyone's ok with that :D

I'm not really sure what I'm looking for right now, so I'm keeping my options open. If you're looking for a casual sort of relationship, I could go for that. If you're looking for something more long term, I would be open to that as well. At this point in my life, I'm open to experimentation.

**UPDATE** Ok I hate drama but yes I am separated. My future Ex-wife has and is cheating on me, lied to me and our kids, ignored our kids, has a boyfriend who is a loser with a record of abuse that she put before her own daughter, so I guess what I am saying is that I am done with her. The only reason I have not gotten the divorce yet is I have to wait a year because of the messed up laws in this state or it would have been done already.

Now to try and talk about myself. I would like to tell this to you myself however, I am looking for someone to be a friend with right now, if it develops into more over time then great. Like to go and eat dinner out and maybe catch a movie or get coffee. When the weather is right a ride on the motorcycle is always in order. I am not big on the bar scene but like to get a beer in a small pub every now and than. I am a single Father of 3 kids, 2 girls and a boy. One of the girls is an Adult now and the other 2 are in High School. I am very lucky that they are great kids. I'm basically just a normal guy. With a little routine in my life, not in a creepy Patrick Bateman sort of way, but I do get up in the mornings and help save the world with my superior computer skills... I'm a happy person who's into learning new things. I love reading, music, sailing, spiritual exploration, adventure, politics, history, and drama of the good kind. I call myself a Christian with a big toolbox. I'm straight but not narrow. I don't have kids, although I like them. Mostly I just rent them and give them back, tired and full of stories.

I love all kinds of books. Freakonomics knocked my socks off. I just finished a huge Lee Childs binge: if you haven't read his Jack Reacher series, run, do not walk, to your nearest library or bookstore. While you're there, pick up Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell; it's a different kind of fun. I'm doing Martin Gilbert's Churchill right now, getting my history freak on. I've been rereading some Pat Conroy and Auden and John Barth's Tidewater Tales, which is seriously amazing. My favorite science fiction authors right now are Neil Gaiman, Sherri Tepper, Jim Butcher (Dresen AND Alera), and Terry Pratchett. Bonus points awarded to men who know who Melisande Shahrizai is; more if you're like Severio Stregazza.

I support free expression, am pro-choice, and used to be a libertarian (small -L) but I got better. I would only vote for the ol' yella dawg if it WAS the best qualified candidate on the ticket. I worked really hard to turn Virginia blue and our county and the precinct I captained met their goals. I'm a reformed lawyer; now I teach middle school and my life is much more fun. I have the courage of my convictions. If Meyers-Briggs interests you, I'm an ENFP who's turned on by INTJs.
