“My son has a great teacher every other year. So it falls on the great teacher to 'fix' what the previous teacher didn't do. My son has special needs, but is high functioning and while some teachers follow the IEP there are the off years when they don't. Not impressed with the school system overall, especially SPED and the upper grades. Luckily, I have friends that work in the school system that look out for my kids. But it shouldn't have to be that way.”

“I also agree about the special education department needing better structure. It seems as if a child falls behind, the blame-game ensues! Instead of attempting to construct a network of participation and communication between intervention teachers, teachers, guidance counselors, and parents on the child's behalf, it seems as if they would rather just ship the 'problem' to the next department. Also, the teachers are so overwhelmed, papers come home with 'needs improvement' instructions, but a month late! What do these administrators expect from these children and their parents, when the kids are already swamped with 2 hours of homework each night already? Do they want us parents to drill children that are already frustrated for 5 hours a night?!?! I'm tired of the lack of communication, overcrowding, and lack of empathy between the staff, pupils, and parents. Will be finding a better school system as soon as I have the means.”

“I was so impressed with Mrs.Stickland, my son had a bad kindergartner year...i really love this lady..So good with her techer skills and son came up in grades now loves to read..he is on third grade level...”

“The year my son spent here turned him around academically. Mrs. Adams was a wonderful teacher for him - she really pushed him to do his best and held all the students accountable and made them more responsible. Might not be for everyone, but definitely a good fit for us!”

“Carrollton Elementary is a good school. Mrs. K (Kosiarski) was a wonderful teacher and the school will not be the same without her. She was the best example of what a teacher should be.”

“The school always appears to be clean cudos to the cleaning staff. But my encounters with the teachers and various staff members have not been pleasent. I must agree that there are issues with the special needs area.”

“Overall a good school. It has a full spectrum of academic programs for all children. THe facility is fairly new with nice features. It has music and art class, but somewhat limited--usually 1-2 times a week.”
