We recently moved to the area from Chesapeake and after hearing all the bad things about not only the Craddock area but the school its self I was very concerned as all parents would be. I had heard terrible stories of the school and was thinking about relocating to a new area or letting my son live with my parents in North Carolina just so he wouldn't have to attend Craddock Middle School. I would just like to we have a change of heart. This is a good school and it could be even better with the help of us parents. My son enjoys his teachers, currently has a B average in all his classes, likes the activities they have there and has lots of friends. These are our children and in order to make the school what we want it to be, we have to make our voices heard. Dr. Sanderlin is a great leader and runs a tight ship. The students have walk through a metal detector. They do not have a watchful eye out for my child. It is definitely not meeting any state codes. The students are passed on to get them out of the school. Home owners are paying for the taxes to see them pay wages for nothing. I do not think the children will know enough of the basic's to be able to achieve a quility career in their future. Staying in the Portsmouth school district is allowing a large number of future citizens to be low income families. What a waste of a god given natural resource. They don't have teachers for math and science for my daughter who is in honor classes.
